The Public Works Department consists of 8 full-time and 3 part-time employees, including 3 operators, 2 truck drivers, 1 mechanic, 1 highway foreman, 1 public works director, and 3 spare truck drivers during the winter. The public works director is responsible for the overall administration of the department.

The department is responsible for the maintenance of 50 miles of town-owned roads and streets, 8.5 miles of town-owned sidewalks, 14 public parking lots, 76,000 linear feet of sanitary sewers, 27,000 linear feet stormwater lines and 234 catch basins. In addition, the department is responsible for the winter maintenance of 15 miles of state-owned roads, 2.5 miles of sidewalks and all town-owned vehicles and equipment. The department also provides support for the development and improvement of numerous recreation and public facilities.
