Vision Statement


It is the vision of the Bucksport Fire and Ambulance to be known as a modern and progressive leader in fire, rescue and emergency medical services.  This will be accomplished by utilizing the best personnel, training and equipment, producing an environment that fosters the health and welfare of our Members and those of the Community.  We will invoke a commitment to excellence by practicing the values of Respect, Honesty, Integrity and Professionalism for ourselves and our Community.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Bucksport Fire and Ambulance is to mitigate and minimize the loss of Life and Property as a result of Fire, Medical, and other Emergencies through dynamic Public Safety and Prevention Education, Planning, Inspections, Emergency Medical Services, efficient use of available Resources and aggressive Emergency Response.  We uphold a pledge to distinction, through Professionalism, Honesty, and Integrity.  ‘Let’s not meet by accident!'

Fire StationService Statements

The Bucksport Fire Department is a combination full-time department with 1 full-time Deputy Fire Chief, 4 full-time Captain/Paramedics, and 8 full-time Firefighter/Paramedics/EMT’s.  Augmenting the full-time staff are 12 Per-Diem Firefighter/EMS personnel, and 10 paid per call staff.  The station is manned at a minimum of 3 personnel 24-hours a day, seven days a week, along with 1 Per-diem Firefighter/EMT.  The department provides fire protection for Bucksport and Verona, while providing EMS coverage to Bucksport, Verona, and Orland, consisting of around 8000 citizens.  We share automatic mutual aid with Orland Fire Department, Orrington Fire Department, Dedham Fire Department, as well as being part of the Hancock County mutual-aid system.  We also share EMS mutual-aid contracts with Orrington EMS, Northern Light EMS, Stockton Springs EMS, and Brewer Fire-EMS.  All calls received for services are dispatched through Bucksport Public Safety Dispatch Center, located at the Public Safety Building.  We have 1 station that houses 3-Advanced Life Support permitted Ambulances, 2-Engines, 1-Quick Response Engine, 1-100 foot Aerial Ladder, 1-Medium-Duty Rescue Truck, 1-Utility/Brush Truck, 1 D/C vehicle,  1 UTV, and 1-Light Rescue Boat.
